Screen Image Capture and Processing

My map screenshots are captured and processed in the following way:

• By means of the UI-View32 scheduler and screen capture function a copy of the actual screen is saved every five minutes in the ..\UI-WebServer\Images directory (see details). The PNG file size is about 400 kB.
   
• With a command line functions of IrfanView the image is cropped to a smaller region around Paris and saved as JPG (see details). The resulting file size is about 70 kB.
   
• Both images are not time stamped with UI-CAPTIONER, because this increases the file size by a factor of two in my case. Instead, a small dummy PNG file is time stamped just after the screen image is captured (see details) and loaded directly below the displayed picture in the HTML files.

The refresh rate for the captioned image is five minutes.
