How to edit the APRS Server list in UI-View

  • Go to the menue Setup - APRS Server Setup
  • You'll find the following screen:

Add a server to the list:

  • Place the cursor in the APRS Server Setup field and click
  • Press the key 'INSert' on your keyboard
  • Type the server address with port number and comment, eg.: france.aprs2.net:14580 ;T2FRANCE Filtered Feed
  • Type <RETURN>
  • Click the tick box of the server(s) you want to use and uncheck all others.
If you check more than one, UI-View will connect you to another server in case of failure, if the box 'Enable auto reconnect' is checked
  • Click 'OK'.

Delete a server from the list:

  • Highlite it and press the 'DELete' key on your keyboard
  • Click 'OK'.

How to put the filter message text:

  • Put the filter message text in the box 'Extra log-on text' (see image above) and it will be send to the server at log-on, e.g.: filter a/75/-36/32/28 for Europe. Click here for details
  • Click 'OK'
  • Remember that the filter will only be activated if you are connected to port 14580 of the server
  • If you do not want to send the filter at log-on or want to change the filter, you can send the same text as a message to T2FRANCE at any time:
  •       To: T2FRANCE

          Port: I (like Internet)

          Text: filter <filter message>

  • If you connect to port 14580 of a server and do not send a filter message, the server will not send you any data until you send a valid filter definition.
